Leifsdottir

Oh so
beautiful.

These are
created by...

Here is
a small bit
of their
inspiration
as stated
on their
website:

"Leifsdottir expresses its appreciation for the past
by using antique-inspired buttons and trims,
in addition to old-world tailoring techniques and fabrics.
Juxtaposing this are artistic,
modern twists like abstract photographic prints,
unexpected color combinations,
and uniquely draped silhouettes and proportions.
This aesthetic tension results in timeless wardrobe keepsakes
that appear to be made,
rather than manufactured."

International Night

The place
where I
work
had a
International
festival
the other
night.

Micah,
myself,
and a
good friend
Kerry...

represented the
nation of
Nepal.

Typical
Nepali
dress
(don't you
just love
Micah's
hat!).

Each nation
that was
represented
had to
provide
some of the
nations
food.

We made
Chat Pati!

If you have
ever had it...

then you would
know how
amazing
it is.

(forgive me
for the
bad quality
phone photos)

Collection

I don't
collect much.

In fact,
I don't
really
collect
anything
at all.

But this
collection by...

is so
amazing.

A collection
of old
passports!

Where
do you
even find
those?

breakfast
a few

And it was
so delicious...

especially
the streusel
topping!

Bananas Foster Bread

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 medium bananas, smashed
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp milk

For Streusel Topping:
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1/3 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
4 tbsp butter

For the Rum Glaze:
4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup rum

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine ingredients for streusel topping in a medium bowl and mix with fingers until a crumbly topping forms and butter is evenly distributed.

3. Whisk flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.

4. On medium speed, beat butter and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each egg to incorporate. Add the mashed bananas and the vanilla, then alternating, add the flour mixture and the milk until completely combined.
