Baked French Toast with Maple & Praline

then start
making
this.




Baked French Toast with Maple & Praline
Recipe adapted from recipegirl.com

1 loaf baguette
8 eggs
2 cups half & half
1 cup milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
dash of salt

Praline Topping:
2 sticks butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp light corn syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

1.The night before: Slice baguette into 1 inch slices.  Arrange slices in a buttered baking dish, overlapping the slices.  In a large bowl combine eggs, half & half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.  Pour mixture over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 

2. The morning of: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine praline topping ingredients and mix well. Spread topping evenly over bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden.  Serve with maple syrup.
