Lemony Almond Macaroons


When I was
younger
I tried
to make 
coconut macaroons.
 
Unfortunately
I failed 
greatly.

But yesterday
I mustered up
the courage
to attempt
macaroons
again...

and I
succeded!




Lemony Almond Macaroons
adapted form Real Simple


1 (14 oz) bag of sweetened coconut flakes
1 cup slivered almonds
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon zest
1/4 tsp salt
4 lg egg whites

1. Heat oven to 325 degrees. 

2. In a large bowl, mix coconut, almonds, sugar, zest, salt.  Once mixed well, stir in the egg whites.

3. Drop mounds (about 2 tbsp mounds) on to parchment paper lined baking sheet.

4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until macaroons start to brown.
